MPL PH: Omega ends Bren’s playoff hopes


Omega Esports eliminated Bren Esports, 2-1, to keep its playoff bid alive in the MPL Philippines Season Nine, Friday night.

This is the second consecutive season that Bren Espors missed the playoffs.

Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic tallied three kills and six assists against one death on Xavier in the 11-7 Game One win in 20 minutes and 36 seconds.

With the victory in Game One, Omega Esports has officially booted Bren Esports out of the playoff race.

The M2 World Champions, though, did not go down without a fight. Leaning on Kenneth “Saxa” Fedellin’s Ling, Bren Esports evened out the series in Game Two via a 20-15 Game Two win in 22 minutes and 44 seconds.

Dean “Raizen” Sumagui’s Paquito then finished off the series through an 8-1-5 KDA line on Paquito in Game Three.

The SMART-backed squad pushed its tally to 15 points off a 5-8 standing to take the sixth spot while Bren Esports fell to 4-9 with 11 points.

Omega Esports will take on Blacklist International in a must-win series on Saturday at 6:00 PM while Bren Esports will try to end its campaign on a winning note against TNC on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
