MPL PH: KarlTzy reaches another milestone as ECHO extends streak to 9

ECHO extended its winning streak to nine games after halting the once-streaking ONIC PH, 2-0, in the MPL Philippines Season 12 regular season on Saturday night at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.

The Orcas remained undefeated, improving their standing to 9-0 and moving closer to a postseason berth.

In Game 1, ECHO sealed the victory after eliminating Mark “Kramm” Rusiana (Edith) and Kenneth “Nets” Barro (Irithel) during a clash in the 16th minute. ONIC PH attempted to defend against a four-man ECHO contingent, but the latter’s firepower proved too much for them to handle.

Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales performed flawlessly on his Karrie, securing seven kills and three assists with only one death, while Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Baxia) maintained a clean 2-0-9 KDA line in the 12-7 Game 1 victory, which lasted for 17 minutes and 37 seconds.

In the second match, ECHO overcame a slight hiccup early on, with KarlTzy (Akai) securing the Lord during the 14th minute, leading to a three-to-one exchange that ultimately ended the game.

The only two-time world champion, who surpassed 2,000 career assists and moved up to 5th all-time in the category, recorded one kill, one death, and nine assists in 19 minutes and nine seconds of game time.

ECHO will aim to extend its dominant streak against Omega Esports on Friday at 6:30 p.m., while ONIC PH will face AP Bren Esports earlier that day at 1:30 p.m.
