Bluffzy says sky’s the limit for Sensui in Blacklist International

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

ONIC PH head coach Kevin “Bluffzy” Reyes showered praise on Stephen “Sensui” Castillo, whose unwavering commitment to explore beyond his comfort zone brought him to greater heights.

Sensui, who played for ONIC PH in the past two seasons, powered Blacklist International to a 3-2 victory over his former squad. This advances them to the upper bracket semifinals of the MPL Philippines Season 12 playoffs at the EVM Convention Center on Wednesday.

Bluffzy said that he’s very happy for Sensui, who finally found a team where he can excel after bouncing around teams during the offseason.

“Masaya ako para sa kanya, at proud kami, dahil alam namin na ginagawa niya ang kanyang best,” said Bluffzy following their loss to Blacklist International.

“Congratulations, syempre kay Teph, kay Sensui. Alam ko kung gaano siya ka-hardworking na tao, at alam ko na malayo pa ang mararating niya ngayon na nasa tamang team na siya. Overall, proud ako sa kaniya, at kaya niya itong ipanalo,” he continued.

As for ONIC PH, Bluffzy had an unwavering belief that their campaign season, despite ending with yet another 5th-6th place finish, is still different from their previous ones.

The former Cignal Ultra standout said that the team’s adjustment from an eight-man roster to a 10-man lineup brought out a lot of positives, saying that they would not have made it to the playoffs without it.

“Ngayong season, maraming nangyari na nag-benefit. Halimbawa, yung 10-man roster, mayroon talaga itong mga advantages at disadvantages. Pero at the same time, na-maximize namin ang advantage dahil kung hindi, hindi rin talaga kami makakapasok sa playoffs,” explained Bluffzy.

“Alam namin na kung six-man roster lang, posible na mas mag-develop yung chemistry, pero yung 10-man roster kasi may mga pasabog at lason, kaya tingin ko magbebenefit pa rin kami kung mag-stay kami sa 10-man roster,” he added.

Looking ahead to the next season, Reyes zeroed in on the importance of building chemistry and synergy among the team members, believing that this would be the key to their future success.

More like them, getting to know each other more. Mas malalim. Kumbaga, yung chemistry at synergy pwedeng mas mabuo pa rin. Mas patitibayin pa namin.”
