RSG Philippines halted a two-game slide by defeating Smart Omega 2-0 in Week 3 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City on Saturday.
Once again, the recent patch played a crucial role in the series, with the healing meta boosting RSG to a dominant closing game.
“Angela right now is really a priority pick. That’s like a cheat code, talaga. That’s why I said we either ban Angela or go for the first pick Angela. I don’t care about the other picks. That was my strategy for today’s draft,” said RSG head coach Brian “Panda” Lim regarding their draft approach against Omega.
Game 1 came down to a 24th-minute sequence in which RSG baited Omega into a lord fight that Eman “EMANN” Sangco (Karrie) exploited to execute a sneaky top-lane push, securing the opener with a score of 1-0.
In Game 2, RSG introduced the healing meta by selecting Minotaur and Angela in the draft, helping them secure three turtle buffs and the first lord objective.
Arvie “Aqua” Calderon showcased impressive prowess with the Angela pick, achieving a 3-0-3 KDA while providing RSG with the healing and sustain needed to survive extended skirmishes and complete the sweep.
With this victory, RSG tied Omega in fifth place with identical 3-3 records, accumulating eight points.
