MPL PH: AP.Bren punches playoff ticket in sweep of TNC

Defending champions AP.Bren secured their place in the playoffs after sweeping TNC Pro Team 2-0 in Week 5 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Saturday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

AP.Bren reclaimed the top spot in the standings after ONIC Philippines fell to RSG Philippines yesterday. They currently hold 24 points with an 8-1 record.

The Hornets’ victory also guaranteed ONIC a place in the postseason.

AP.Bren head coach Francis “Duckeyy” Glindro cited the lack of conviction in TNC’s plays that led to trades in team fights, which were favorable for his team.

“There’s just a lack of conviction kung ano talaga yung gusto nilang gawin that resulted in miscommunication. I hope they overcome it. Sana magstay sila together kasi I see the potential in the future eh,” said Duckeyy of TNC.

Vincent “Pando” Unigo (Benedetta) made a triumphant season debut, showcasing his impact from the early game, which helped AP.Bren secure objectives and comfortably take the opener.

The fan-favorite exp laner earned the game MVP award with a 2-2-4 KDA performance.

In Game 2, the match was closely contested until Kyle “KyleTzy” Sasyon (Baxia) secured the lord in the 13th minute, establishing a significant 4k net worth lead.

This proved to be the decisive moment as AP.Bren continued to dominate control of the maps and objectives for the remainder of the match to complete the sweep.

TNC has now lost all but one match this season and is at risk of missing their fourth consecutive postseason, having only accumulated four points.
