MPL PH: AP.Bren bags ninth win at the expense of MINANA, grabs solo lead

AP.Bren solidified its upper bracket bid after a scintillating 2-0 sweep of MINANA Evos to cap off Week 5 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Sunday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

The Hornets (9-1) took the solo lead with 27 points, three points ahead of second-running ONIC Philippines (8-2), which currently has 24 points.

In the opener, AP.Bren quickly took the lead from the start and used a 1-1 exchange during the 14th minute lord dance to gain map control and force a game-winning base turret siege a minute later.

The defending champions then engaged MINANA in a meticulous Game 2 affair, only registering a combined five kills but winning out on the objectives to complete the series sweep.

Despite the loss, MINANA remained fifth with 14 points and only needs a win to secure its place in the playoffs.
