MDL ID: Dlar a runner-up anew as EVOS ICON falls to Bigetron Beta in final

Filipino EXP laner Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera settled for yet another bridesmaid finish after EVOS Icon fell to Bigetron Beta, 0-3, in the grand finals of the MDL Indonesia Season Six, Sunday.

Dlar posted a 1-0-2 KDA line on Uranus in the finals opener wherein the EVOS Legends development team lost, 5-10, in just 13 minutes and 23 seconds of game time. He then had a kill, a death, and two assists on Esmeralda in the 5-11 Game Two lost in under 17 minutes.

The former ONIC PH star then had his worst outing in the decider. He scored two kills while also dying four times on Benedetta in 15 minutes of play.

This is Dlar’s fifth silver finish in his MPL career which included finals appearances in the MPL PH Seasons Four, Five, Eight, and the M3 World Championships.

“Kinapos na naman. Thank you sa mga sumuporta samin at sa EVOS. See you next season guys,” Dlar posted on his personal Facebook account after the loss.

Holding a league-best 11-2 win-loss standing after the regular season, the EVOS Legends development team gained an outright semifinals spot in the playoffs.

They swept Dewa United in the best-of-three semis before an upset by seventh-seed Bigetron Alpha.

Dlar, whom EVOS Legends picked up for the MPL Indonesia Season 10, found himself relegated to the development lead just weeks prior to the MDL playoffs.

Meanwhile, EVOS Legends missed the playoffs for the first time in franchise history after finishing with a 5-9 record in the regular season.
