MPL: Blacklist dominates ECHO, punches M4 ticket

Blacklist International became the first Filipino team to make back-to-back appearances in the world stage after sweeping ECHO, 3-0, in the upper bracket finals of the MPL Philippines Season 10 playoffs, Saturday at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City.

The Tier One-backed squad will also return to the MPL PH finals – their third in six seasons – after missing the playoffs last season.

ECHO, meanwhile, still has a chance to make it to the finals and claim a ticket in the M4 World Championships in the lower bracket finale.

With Game One still up for grabs entering the 25th minute, Blacklist International secured crucial kills on Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (Esmeralda) and Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Karina) near the bottom Lord pit.

This gave Blacklist International a free shot at the Lord before eventually ending the match in 25 minutes and 44 seconds.

Salic “Hadji” Imam led the way with two kills, a death, and 10 assists while Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, who debuted a jungler Fredrinn, had three kills, two deaths, and 11 assists in the 16-18 Game One win.

Blacklist International pulled off another surprise pick in Game Two with Wise using Guinevere in the jungle. He finished with two kills and nine assists against one death in the lopsided 13-6 win in 19 minutes.

The reigning world champs then took Game Three for the sweep.

The MPL PH Season 10 finals will be held tomorrow, Sunday at 4:00 PM.
