MPL: 1rrad, Perkz make successful debut, lifts RSG to third seed

Rookies John “1rrad” Tuazon and John “Perkz” Sumawan finally made their debut as RSG PH clinched the third seed after sweeping Nexplay EVOS, 2-0, to cap off the MPL Philippines Season 10 regular season, Monday at the ICITE Auditorium.

The reigning MPL Philippines champion ended its regular season campaign with 23 points via a 9-5 win-loss standing. This also means that RSG PH will have the luxury of picking its first round assignment in the playoffs.

RSG PH took a lopsided 12-3 Game One win in 14 minutes and 15 seconds on the back of Arvie “Aqua” Calderon’s Valentina. He finished with four kills and six assists in the match to help his side take a 1-0 advantage over the also-ran Nexplay EVOS.

1rrad, meanwhile, had a kill and three assists on Akai while Perkz added two kills and nine assists against three deaths.

Aqua once again came through for RSG PH in Game Two, delivering six kills and 12 assists against one death on the same hero to complete the sweep.

Nexplay EVOS, despite having the same standing and points tally as TNC, salvaged a seventh-place finish as they swept their regular season matchup against the Season Nine third placer.

This is the first time that the Nexplay franchise will miss the playoffs since joining the league in Season Six.

The MPL Philippines playoffs will begin on October 20.
