Fifty-four of the 58 scheduled aspirants were present for the final day of the first-ever Women’s National Basketball League Draft Combine, Sunday at the Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City.
Headlining the cast were Gilas Women’s sniper Khate Castillo and UAAP Season 82 Finals MVP Monique del Carmen.
Unlike day one – that saw 61 of the 80 players present coming from the centers, forwards, and guards classification – all of the athletes present were guards.
Also taking part in the event that was supported by Chooks-to-Go, Uling Roasters, and Gig Sportswear were Fille Claudine Cainglet, Mariel Campasa, Krista Bongon, Klarisse Bascon, Lor Capilit, Cherylane Cuyom, Nicole Delos Reyes, Ferlynn Decapia, Regina Dela Merced, Jean Delos Reyes, Katrina Domino, Marika Esplana, Micah Figuracion, Nicky Garcia, Elisa Gepilano, and Franchesca Gomendoza.
Fionna Gonato, Ericka Hortaleza, Ayra Hufanda, Marika Iida, Christine Isip, Denyse Jimenez, Mary Rose Labrador, Shanna Latoza, Ysai Llosala, Sunny Lucanas, Krystine Timtim, Leodine Madrid, Nicole Mendina, Julie Ann Montilla, Junila Petilla, Lourdes Pocallan, Jinnelle Ponce, and Quenee Ragual were also present in the final day that was made supervised by the Games and Amusements Board.
Camille Ramos, Karen Salapong, Vanessa Santos, Katrina Servillon, Princess Sulit, Jacqueline Tanaman, Irene Torregosa, Michaela Sunga, Krizanne Ty, Jade Valenzuela, Diane Ventura, Loraine Ventura, Francesca Isabel Young, Jaimee Chan, Hazelle Habon, Krista Roberto, Cheng Garcera, and Loraine Gonzalo also showed up.
All players and league staff underwent antigen tests before entering the actual combine area. As part of the social distancing measures being implemented, no scrimmages were held and coaches will be supplied with a video of the proceedings.
Renowned trainers Karlo Santos, Mark Caron, Aldo Panlilio, and Justin Aquino supervised the agility exams, while two coaches from Tamita administered the body composition tests.
