The trade between Blackwater and Meralco will finally push through following a revision.
The PBA approved a deal that will see the Elite ship Allein Maliksi and Raymar Jose to the Bolts in exchange for KG Cañaleta, Mike Tolomia, and two future draft picks.
Initially, the deal only had the four players plus a 2019 second-round pick involved. The league rejected the offer, which made the Bolts decide to include their 2021 second-round pick.
The players are expected to suit up in their new teams’ next assignments set this weekend.
Cañaleta — who had played for the Elite in 2017 but was shipped to the Bolts the same year — and Tolomia are seen to play in Blackwater’s match versus the Alaska Aces on Saturday, October 26.
Maliksi and Jose, on the other hand, should see action for the Orangemen in their clash with the Grand Slam-seeking San Miguel Beermen on Sunday, October 27.
Blackwater now had its second player movement this 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup with the trade’s approval.
Last Saturday, the Elite traded Fil-American sharpshooter Mike DiGregorio to TNT for Brian Heruela as the KaTropa have been eyeing DiGregorio for some time now, reports said.
Blackwater has been struggling in the season-ending conference as it has lost five of its seven games so far.
