Malonzo heading to Ginebra as three-team trade with SMB, Northport awaits approval

It seems like Jamie Malonzo will finally call the SMC training facility as his home.

Weeks after videos surfaced of him training at Ginebra’s headquarters, Malonzo will be staying there as the Barangay figured in a three-team trade with NorthPort and San Miguel.

The development was first reported by SPIN.ph’s Reuben Terrado, and confirmed to Tiebreaker Times by multiple sources closely monitoring the situation.

Complicated will be the transactions as there will be a lot of moving parts for the Kings to acquire not just Malonzo but also Von Pessumal from the Beermen.

Ginebra will ship Arvin Tolentino, Prince Caperal, and Kent Salado to the Batang Pier, along with two future second round picks to get Malonzo.

NorthPort will then send the two future picks to SMB to get Pessumal.

Ginebra will then throw Jeff Chan to NorthPort to get Pessumal.

The trade is still pending league approval.
