Two of the stars playing in the highly-anticipated quarterfinals clash between Slovenia and Canada were ejected.
Fan-favorite Luka Doncic and antagonist Dillon Brooks were disqualified from the game early in the fourth quarter.
Doncic received his second technical foul with 6:37 left after arguing a non-call with the game officials.
Earlier, Brooks had also been penalized with his second technical foul during a dead ball situation.
Doncic finished the game with 26 points on 8-of-20 shooting, five assists, four rebounds, and two assists, much to the chagrin of the sold-out SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Brooks, on the other hand, contributed 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 28 minutes of play.
Canada was leading by a significant margin against Slovenia as of publishing.
The winner of the game will face Serbia in the knockout semifinals on Friday.
