Louie Ramirez is always ready when needed by Cignal in the 2022 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference.
And he got a lot of sets in the HD Spikers 25-20, 26-24, 25-18 win against VNS-One Alicia on Saturday.
This as Marck Espejo left early in the first set as he felt pain in his left Achilles, which he hurt against National University-Sta. Elena on Thursday.
Ramirez then took full advantage on his way to a game-high 16 points.
“Wala naman (pressure) kasi lahat naman is nagpeperform nang maganda at siguro, inaapply lang namin ‘yung napagtrainingan namin,” said the Perpetual Help product.
“Nandoon na rin ‘yung tiwala ko sa sarili ko na nabuboost ako every game kasi may tiwala rin ‘yung teammates ko sa akin,” added Ramirez, who punched in a conference-high 18 points in their five set loss against the Nationals.
Cignal head coach Dexter Clamor is optimistic that Espejo can suit up for Tuesday’s game against PGJC-Navy with the last Finals slot at stake.
But whenever the HD Spikers needed him to take the extra mile again, Ramirez will gladly take the scoring cudgels.
“Always prepared naman po,” he said.
“Siguro kung ano ‘yung nilaro ko, ganoon pa rin kung sakaling need ng ibang player, mayroon pa kami sa bench wala naman problema kahit sino.”
