The UFC Fight Night Manila 2 card will be bigger compared to its predecessor, as two heavyweights are set to collide.
American Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis and Polish big man Marcin “Tybur” Tybura have agreed in principle to be the undercard of UFC Fight Night Manila 2 on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
In a report by MMAJunkie.com, representatives from Lewis’ camp have confirmed that the two heavyweights have agreed in principle to face each other.
Lewis, 31, is riding a four-fight winning streak and is currently 16-4 in his pro career, 7-2 in the UFC. In his most recent bout, the 31-year-old took a split decision victory over former IFL champion and Ultimate Fighter X winner Roy Nelson. The bout was the first time Lewis went the full 15 minutes in his career.
Tybura, 30, was on a 12-fight winning streak before signing with the UFC. However, he was handed his first loss of his career in his debut. The Polish fighter bounced back with a huge KO win over Viktor Pesta a week ago.
The card is scheduled to be headlined by a five-round featherweight bout pitting MMA legend BJ Penn and top flight featherweight Ricardo Lamas. Filipino-American Mark Munoz will serve as the ambassador for the event.
