Laguna notched its third straight win at the expense of the hapless Stan District 4, 107-71, in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go NBL Chairman’s Cup at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga, Sunday.
King Fadriquela led the demolition with 21 points and five assists as the Pistons moved to. 500 at 4-4. They are still the seventh seed.
It was all Laguna right from the get-go. It cruised to a 30-14 first quarter before outscoring the SparTANs in the next three periods.
A bucket from Fadriquela at the 1:20 mark of the fourth frame put the Pistons ahead by 38, 107-69 – the biggest lead of the game.
Aries Santos tallied 16 points off the bench. Meanwhile, point guard Jeffrey Disquitado had a monster rebounding game with 21 to go with 10 points.
Kim Penohermoso carried District 4 with 21 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while Khenth Guiab got 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Jared Sevilla netted 14 points in the losing cause.
The SparTANs fell to 1-7 with two games left.
