FEU’s Charm Simborio and Bernadeth Pons took full advantage of a struggling ADMU pair in their second match of the day as the Lady Tams overpowered the Lady Eagles, 21-15, 21-6.
Ateneo’s Mich Morente and reserve player, Joana Maraguinot, showed signs of life early in the first set, taking a brief, 9-7 lead, forcing FEU to call timeout. FEU would however turn up the in the intensity and started to effectively target Joana Maraguinot, forcing her to multiple attack errors.
With both pairs plating in their second game of the day, the Lady Eagles would gas out early in the second set and would finish with only six points. FEU wold join UST as the only undefeated teams after the frist weekend of action and Ateneo falls to the bottom of the standings, tied with UE, both squads still without a win.
