Kristel Macrohon gave the Philippine Weightlifting Squad its second gold in the 30th Southeast Asian Games, Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The 23-year-old cleared a total of 216 kilograms to take her first-ever Games gold ahead of Nguyen Thi Van of Vietnam and Indonesia’s Tsabitha Ramadani.
Macrohon scored 93 in the snatch, before adding 123 in the clean and jerk, just two kilograms over the Vietnamese. Ramadani rounded up the podium with a far 203 score.
