Unlike his girlfriend Alyssa Valdez — who had a chance to play in her hometown earlier today — Kiefer Ravena will not have a chance to play for his hometown of Iloilo City.
Hours before the final leg of the 2018 PBA All-Star Week festivities, held at the University of San Agustin Gym in Iloilo City, the second-generation cager immediately took the next flight to Manila.
According to Ravena himself, it was Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas chairman emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan who told him to return to Manila.
This was Ravena’s first chance to play in front of his hometown since turning pro.
Last Wednesday, the second overall pick in the 2017 Rookie Draft played in his first All-Star Game, playing for the SMART All-Stars. He finished the game with 15 markers.
The 24-year-old combo guard did not play in the Batangas leg of the All-Star series.
It is still unknown why Ravena was called back to Manila as of publishing.
