Kenshiro Daniels goal sinks ADT, secures Copa Alcantara title for Kaya

Kaya-Iloilo added another title in its illustrious history after winning the 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara thanks to a close 1-0 victory over the Azkals Development Team, Friday evening at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

Kaya forward Kenshiro Daniels broke the deadlock in the 47th minute in fortuitous circumstances. Simone Rota launched a long ball into the ADT box, and Daniels was able to overpower defender Mar Vincent Diano. He then put a slight touch on the ball to put it at the back of the net.

Beforehand, in a goalless first half marred by an unfortunate power interruption, both sides tried to impose their presence in the match. Kaya almost enjoyed first blood when skipper Jovin Bedic lobbed the ball past ADT goalie Quincy Kammeraad. But Diano then cleared the ball off the line in spectacular fashion.

Ultimately, it was a memorable night for Kaya as the LBC-backed club annexed its second Copa Paulino Alcantara title after winning the inaugural edition in 2018.
