Now it can be told.
Dave Ildefonso is set to take his act to South Korea, making his commitment to join Korean Basketball League team Suwon KT.
Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
Ildefonso, 22, though kept mum on it after he played his final game with Ateneo de Manila University.
“Siguro in a few days I’ll announce. I can’t say anything about it,” said Ildefonso.
Sources though said that Ildefonso will be signing a two-year deal with the Sonicboom, making his commitment to join the team during the UAAP’s international break.
The 6-foot-3 winger played his first two years at National University, averaging 16.18 points, 5.25 rebounds, and 2.46 assists per game.
He then transferred to Ateneo, playing two seasons there.
In his senior year, he put up numbers of 12.97 points and 8.29 rebounds. He made it to the Mythical Team.
In the finals, however, his numbers dipped to 5.0 points and 6.67 rebounds. What’s important though is he finally got the gold medal he has long sought for.
He joins a Sonicboom team that has Lester Prosper as their import.
Suwon KT is currently last in the league with a 7-14 record.
