Rhenz Abando delivered a clutch play that completed Anyang KGC’s stunning 86-77 come-from-behind win against Seoul SK to force a winner-take-all in the 2023 Korean Basketball League Finals on Friday at Anyang Indoor Gymnasium.
Anyang KGC stormed back from a 15-point third-quarter deficit capped by a huge four-point play by Abando in the dying moments of the game to push the series to the limit.
Game 7 is on Sunday still at Anyang.
Abando went 4-of-6 from the field for nine points to go along with seven rebounds.
Oh Sekeun had a team-high 18 points for KGC. Daryl Monroe played solid as Omari Spellman’s backup, tallying 16 points on 6-of-6 shooting with six boards.
For his part, Spellman added 13 points.
Jameel Warney carried the Knights with 31 points and 10 rebounds, while Choi Bukyung added 15 markers.
The series has been a roller-coaster ride for the two rivals with Seoul SK taking Game One, 77-69, before Anyang fought back with an 81-67 Game Two win.
SK and KGC exchanged wins in the next two games, with the latter taking Game 3 (81-70) before the former got Games 4 (100-91) and 5 (66-60).
