KarlTzy leads Team Liquid PH past Twisted Minds with vintage MVP performance

Team Liquid PH asserted its dominance and handed the surging Twisted Minds a harsh reality check with a 2-0 sweep in Week 2 of the MPL Philippines Season 16 on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.

The defending champions improved to 2-2, tying with Smart Omega for third place.

Twisted Minds appeared disoriented throughout the series after TLPH surprised them with utility jungler picks they admitted they hadn’t anticipated.

“Siguro mas nag-prepare lang kami for Twisted na pinag-usapan namin kung ano yung mga posible maging heroes against them. And lahat naman kami umagree na yung utility ni Karl is pwedeng magamit,” explained TLPH coach Rodel “Ar Sy” B. Cruz on the strategy behind the Fredrinn pick.

“Di namin pinlano na gulatin eh. Kumbaga, wala sa plano namin na gulatin (ang Twisted Minds). Ang plano lang namin is ibalik namin kung ano talaga yung laro namin and yung heroes namin.”

TLPH drew first blood with a dominant opening performance, closing out Game 1 in just 14 minutes.

Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno revived the hero that secured them the MSC 2025 crown, delivering a stellar 2-2-15 KDA to earn game MVP honors on the Fredrinn pick.

Riding that momentum, TLPH showed no signs of slowing down in Game 2, cruising to another one-sided victory to complete the sweep.

KarlTzy’s Fredrinn again became TLPH’s focal point, finishing with an impressive 2-2-6 KDA during the 11-minute, series-clinching win.

Despite the loss, Twisted Minds retained the top spot with a 3-1 record.
