KarlTzy hailed as 2020 MPL-PH MVP


BREN Esports raked in awards in the 2020 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Annual Selection, Thursday evening. 

The reigning MPL-Philippines champion collected a total of six awards in the event which used seasons five and six as its barometer.

BREN Esports core Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno was named the 2020 Most Valuable Player of the Year after tallying 19.9-percent votes from the fans and 34.62-percent league votes for a total of 54.01-percent.

Offlaner Charles “FlapTzy” Canon nabbed the Rookie of the Year plum, while BREN Esports mentor Francis “Duckey” Glindro won the Coach of the Year award.

KarlTzy spearheaded in the Best Team of the Year, where he was joined by teammate and two-time MPL-Philippines champion Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, who was regarded as the top support player of the league.

The Bernard Chong-owned franchise also won the Best Club award with a total of 57.55-percent combined votes.

BREN Esports finished third in the MPL-Philippines Season Five while finally winning the elusive championship in Season Six.

Completing the Mythical Five were Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog (tank) of Execration, Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (gold lane) of Aura PH, and Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera (experience lane) of ONIC PH.

ONIC PH also won the Most Well Branded Club of the Year while NXP Solid’s John Paul “H2Wo” Salonga was awarded the Most Popular Player trophy.

Lastly, Manjean Faldas – who has been casting the games ever since Season One – was named the Best Caster of the Year award.
