Kalei Mau has revealed that she will be making a stop in Puerto Rico first before returning home.
The 6-foot-1 Fil-Hawaiian has signed with Changos de Naranjito in the Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino.
“To all my Filipino supporters, Salamat sa lahat for your constant love and support. I want you to hear it from me first that I will be playing abroad for a 2.5 month season. I plan to return to the Philippines after this quick stint to compete in the PVL with my team F2 Logistics,” she tweeted.
The Premier Volleyball League’s inaugural pro conference has been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mau was the 2019 PSL All Filipino Conference Best Scorer and MVP. She will join a Naranjito team that finished second in last year’s edition of the LVSF.
With this, however, the 26-year-old will not be able to join the Philippine National Volleyball Federation’s tryouts on Wednesday.
“With that being said, I will not be able to attend the National Team tryouts this week due to travel restrictions and safety risks. But my dream to play for the Philippine flag has and will not change.”
Mau was supposed to return to the country early this month, but the imposing of travel restrictions made it hard for her to come back.
