B.League: Javi GDL, Ibaraki fall to Tokyo anew

Coming off a close loss yesterday, Ibaraki could not sustain their momentum, bowing to Tokyo 73-98 in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at the Arena Tachikawa Tachihi.

The Robots actually led 28-23 at the end of the first quarter.

However, Ibaraki’s defense collapsed, allowing Tokyo to score 30 points. Shuto Ando fired three triples during that spurt while Alex Kirk scored seven points.

It was all Alvark from there, leading by as much as 32 points, 96-64, late in the game.

Sebastian Saiz had a monster game for Tokyo, who went up to 14-7, with 30 points and 11 rebounds.

Jordan Taylor had 18 points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals, while Ando got 11 points. Kirk also had 11 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

Ibaraki fell to 3-18.

Chehales Tapscott paced Ibaraki with 30 points. Eric Jacobsen tallied a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Daichi Taniguchi added 11 points.

Javi Gomez de Liaño only played 10 minutes, missing both of his field goal attempts while committing two turnovers.

Gomez de Liaño and Ibaraki will face Matt Aquino and Shinshu on Christmas weekend.
