Golds continue to rain on James De Los Santos.
The top male e-kata karateka in the world added two more golds to his collection after two more tournaments turned in their results for the 2020 Sportdata e-Kata World Series, Sunday evening.
On the same night, the 30-year-old pocketed the titles in the second leg of the Okinawa E-Tournament World Series and then in the Nox Dojo Markham City Open.
De Los Santos edged out Alfredo Bustamante of the United States in the finals of the Okinawa tourney, 24.8-24.48, with another solid performance of Unsu. The two-time ISKF world champion earlier topped the elimination pool with a score 24.14. He then took down Slovenia’s Nejc Strenica in the semifinals at 24.8-24.2.
He later added another gold minutes after overpowering Switzerland’s Matias Moreno-Domont, 25.3 in Unsu against the latter’s 24.2 of Ohan, in the finals of the Nox Dojo championships.
To advance to the gold medal match, De Los Santos defeated Ali Mirkarimi of Canada and Bustamante in the respective first two rounds.
De Los Santos is expected to further widen his lead at the points ranking against Eduardo Garcia of Portugal, with little more than a month left in the year.
Julia Ian Marcos of Maharlika Karatedo Kai returned to her winning ways. She bagged both of the golds at stake at female Under-21 and female seniors e-kata of the Okinawa tournament.
Fatima A-Isha Hamsain took two silvers in female U15 e-kata and U16 e-kumite mixed. Christina Colonia added a bronze after reaching the semis of female U18 e-kata.
