Filipino-American Jalen Green is set to make a big decision: whether he enters college or goes pro for the 2020 season.
In a Tweet, Green, the top high school prospect in America today, had an Auburn cap, a Memphis jacket, and an NBL shirt underneath — signifying that these were on his shortlist.
He is set to announce his decision over at his Instagram account @Jalen at around 1:00 AM (Manila time).
Auburn is seen as the favorite, as it has just lost its shooting guard. On the other hand, Memphis already is loaded in the guard position.
If he decides to go to the NBL, he will take the route taken by LaMelo Ball and RJ Hampton, who are both entering the 2020 NBA Draft.
Green, a 6-foot-5 swingman, is a five-star recruit by all rating bodies, including Rivals, 247 Sports, and ESPN.
He helped lead Team USA to the gold medal in the 2018 FIBA Under-17 and 2019 Under-19 World Cups. Green was the MVP of the U17 Worlds.
Besides this, Green, whose mother Bree is Filipina, played for FilAm Sports during the 2018 and 2019 Chooks-to-Go National Basketball Training Center National Finals. He owns the NBTC record in scoring after dropping 51 points against the NU Bullpups back in March 21, 2018.
Green also had official visits to Oregon, Fresno State, and USC.
