Isa Molde fighting to play in UP Lady Maroons’ next game

University of the Philippines ace spiker Isa Molde was only a witness from the bench as the Lady Maroons edged the University of the East Lady Warriors, Wednesday afternoon.

Last Sunday versus the Ateneo Lady Eagles, the reigning PVL Collegiate Conference Most Valuable Player sprained her left ankle. With the way she landed on teammate Mirgie Bautista, the injury looked more serious than it turned out to be.

“Ang taas kasi ng pinanggalingan ko, kaya ang sakit talaga,” the 20-year-old, native of Catmon, Cebu recalled.

The fourth-year Lady Maroon was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a Grade One ankle sprain.

“Noong nalaman kong ankle sprain lang, sobrang saya ko kasi, for sure, kaunti lang ‘yung treatment para makalaro agad ako.”

Still, the Lady Maroons are taking caution with her, taking it day by day.

The UAAP Season 78 Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Year is hopeful to play against Far Eastern University (6-4) on Saturday as UP guns for their seventh win.

“Ita-tray pa namin. Ilalaban.”
