IESF: Sibol ML drops to lower bracket, gets swept by Indonesia

SIBOL ML:BB crashed down the lower bracket after suffering a 0-2 upset at the hands of the EVOS Legends-composed Indonesia in the 14th IESF World Championships, Sunday in Bali, Indonesia.

The Filipinos were poised to take the opener after taking a 5K gold advantage in the first 10 minutes of the match but Rizqi “Saykots” Damank went for a game-turning flank on the Philippines’ backline which resulted in a 3-0 advantage.

It was all Indonesia from there as they bagged the quick 1-0 series advantage over the heavily-favored SIBOl, composed of reigning MPL Philippines and world champion Blacklist International.

In Game Two, the Indonesians took control right from the get-go, taking a 7K gold advantage as early as the 10-minute mark which buried the Filipinos deep.

SIBOL tried to bounce back behind Salic “Hadji” Imam’s Faramis but it was not enough to stop Indonesia’s upset bid.

The ML:BB team will fight for tournament life against Slovenia later in the day at 5:00 PM.

On the other hand, SIBOL’s Andreij “Doujin” Albar bowed out of the Tekken 7 tournament after failing to reach a top two finish in Pool C.

Doujin lost back-to-back games against Ivory Coast and Poland before taking out Colombia and Laos.

SIBOL Dota 2 is currently in third place in Pool B of the play-ins after beating Venezuela and Nepal before losing to Myanmar for a 2-1 standing. They take on New Zealand and Costa Rica next for a spot in the main draw.

Members of the Dota 2 team are Charles Delos Santos, Joel Pagkatotohan, James Erice Guera, Jomari Anis, Eljohn Andales, and Mark Anthony Rubina.
