IESF: Sibol ML advances to second round; Sibol Dota takes second seed

SIBOL ML:BB moved on to the second round while SIBOL Dota 2 clinched the second seed in its group in the 14th IESF World Championships, Sunday in Bali, Indonesia.

Fresh off a shocking loss to Indonesia, the Filipinos quickly bounced back by way of a dominant 23-3 Game One win over Slovenia in just nine minutes of play.

SIBOL ML:BB then sustained its momentum in Game Two and bagged a 26-3 Game Two win over the Europeans to complete the rousing win.

The Philippines will advance to the lower bracket quarterfinals where they will take on the loser of the upper bracket match between Argentina and Indonesia on Tuesday.

On the other hand, SIBOL Dota 2 cruised to the playoffs with a 4-1 win-loss record after beating New Zealand and Costa Rica, respectively.

They bagged the second seed in Pool B behind fellow Southeast Asian squad Myanmar, who swept the group and posted a 5-0 slate.
