Serbia clinched a place in the last eight of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, prevailing wire-to-wire over Dominican Republic 112-79 in the second round on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Eagles improved their record to 4-1 and advanced as the top of Group I while Los Quisqueyanos exited the competition at 3-2.
Serbia did not allow Dominicana to have a taste of the lead during the content. The two-time world champions even led as much as 95-57 thanks to Ognjen Dobric’s alley oop at the 7:58 of the fourth quarter.
