Fans get free transpo, Yumburgers for FIBA WC opening day


On August 25, the Group A action of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will kick off at the Philippine Arena.

The festivities will commence with scrappy Angola facing powerful Italy at 4 pm, followed by the home team Gilas Pilipinas taking on the Dominican Republic at 8 pm.

Fans in attendance will not only enjoy top-notch basketball competition but also world-class entertainment.

The renowned Filipino new wave/rock band, The Dawn, online streaming sensation Ben & Ben, and Asia’s Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo will aim to energize the crowd and rock the arena during the breaks between the two scheduled games.

But that’s not all.

Fans attending the opening-day games at the Philippine Arena have the option to avail themselves of free point-to-point (P2P) shuttle buses for transportation.

Tournament organizers have arranged for 400 premium-grade air-conditioned buses with 49 seats each, stationed at 12 strategic take-off points. These points include the PITX Bus Terminal, Mall of Asia Arena, One Ayala Bus Terminal, BGC Market Market Bus Terminal, SM Megamall, Araneta City, Trinoma, SM North, Clover Leaf Ayala Mall Bus Terminal, SM Baliuag, SM Pampanga, and SM Clark.

The free shuttle bus rides are scheduled to depart from each boarding terminal at 11 am and 12 noon, with hourly departures from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Opening-day ticket holders for the Philippine Arena games can visit https://bit.ly/3rNFIR4 to choose their preferred pick-up location and departure time. They simply need to arrive on time and present their opening-day ticket/s.

After the Gilas Pilipinas-Dominican Republic game, the buses will be available to transport riders back to their starting points.

Upon arriving at the Philippine Arena, fans can look forward to more exciting offerings. A coupon for a free Jollibee Cheesy Yumburger will be provided at the gate upon presentation of opening-day tickets. Additionally, patrons in different sections will receive FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 merchandise, including scarves, fan clappers, and rally towels.

Special LED wristbands will also be distributed, allowing everyone in the arena to be part of a captivating light show.

Beyond these offerings, fans at the Philippine Arena will have the opportunity to be a part of FIBA World Cup history. The goal is to set a record for attendance and surpass the existing number of 32,616.

An abundance of basketball and more awaits the most passionate fans.
