With history on the line and home-court pride fueling their charge, the Filipina5 are set to usher in a new era for Philippine futsal as they battle in the inaugural 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup beginning Friday, November 21, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Bannered by World Cup veterans Katrina Guillou, Jaclyn Sawicki, and Isabella Flanigan, the Philippine Women’s National Futsal Team aims to make a deep run in the sport’s maiden global showpiece.
The trio—who suited up for the country in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand—headline Coach Rafael Merino’s 14-player roster for the historic campaign.
Joining them are goalkeepers Samantha Hughes and Kayla Santiago, along with Tuloy FC standouts Lanie Ortillo and Isabella Bandoja.
UAAP alumnae Rocelle Mendaño, Charisa Lemoran, Shai de Campo, and Dionesa Tolentin also earned their spots, while Far Eastern University star Regine Rebosura bolsters the squad’s youthful energy.
Rounding out the Filipina5 lineup are Cathrine Graversen and Judy Lynn Connolly.
Slotted in Group A as host nation, the Philippines must secure a top-two finish to advance to the knockout stage. Standing in their way are Poland on November 21, Morocco on November 24, and Argentina on November 27.
