Game Three of the best-of-five was a highly emotional tilt between the TNT Katropa and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. And the heat of the action even spilled off the court.
The game itself saw the Katropa fight valiantly amid the high drama of the game.
However, the stand of Glen Rice, Jr., who dropped 44 points, and the rest of TNT ended up short, as the “breaks of the game” did not fall into their favor. A controversial technical foul called on Rice, Jr. for allegedly hanging on the rim with 27 ticks left capped a night that saw the more “aggressive” Ginebra attempt a whopping 43 free throws.
Still, the father of Glen Rice, Jr. — a legend of Michigan state and one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA back in the 90’s — sent out a tweet to Tiebreaker Times to fire up the TNT team who will feature in a win-or-go-home situation Sunday evening.
“Okay guys, understand one thing, it’s not over! Enough said,” Rice said.
The now 50-year-old resident of Miami, Florida also called for the Katropa to just focus on the game and withstand the calls.
“Go play your ass off the next game, stay together and BELIEVE,” he said.
And just like in Game Two, it’s up to Rice Jr. and the Katropa to respond.
