By: Ed Ubaldo

Moonton Games has unveiled the roster of participating teams for the inaugural Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Developmental League (MDL) Philippines Season 1 led by invited teams Gamelab and ZOL Esports who both produced stellar campaigns in the amateur scene in 2022.

Gamelab is coming off an impressive run last December where they took the championship at the King’s League tournament organized by Dark League studios.

They also won the title at the Top Clans 2022 Winter Invitational besting Indonesian Professional Team Geek Fam, who was parading Filipino Imports Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy and Jaymark “Janaaqt” Lazaro, in the tournament finals.

ZOL, on the other hand, is home to high-profile players after successfully securing the services of M2 World Champions Carlito “Ribo” Ribo Jr. and Allan “Lusty” Castromayor Jr. along with former MLBB Professional League Philippines standout Jeff “S4gitnu” Subang during their amateur tournament runs in mid-2022. Their MDL roster has not been announced yet as of this article.

Rounding up the MDL PH teams are Blacklist Academy, Echo Proud, Nexplay Evos Tiger Cubs, Smart Omega Neos, Bren x Euphoria, Onic Arsenals, RSG Philippines, and TNC Neo.

MDL Season 1 is set to open on February 15 with RSG figuring in an early clash against Gamelab followed by Onic-NXPE and BrenxEuphoria-ZOL. Completing the opening day matches is the game between Smart Omega and TNC.
