The new-look TNC Predator’s come-from-behind Game Two victory powered its 2-0 sweep of fellow Filipino squad Execration to open their Dota Pro Circuit 2021 Season Two-Southeast Asia Upper Division with a victory, Wednesday evening.
TNC carry Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte spearheaded the comeback with his Luna, finishing with 14 kills and nine assists against just five deaths in the 27-29 Game Two win.
The 22-year-old former Clutch Gamers carry notched an Ultra Kill in the 24:42-minute match which kick-started TNC’s rally.
Support Timothy “Tims” Randrup (Mirana) added a game-high 21 assists laced with two kills and two deaths while midlaner Armel “Armel” Tabios ended up with nine kills and 15 assists against four deaths.
The 1-2 punch of Armel and Gabbi did the damage as early as Game One, opening the series with dominant performances of their own.
The former put up 14 kills and 18 assists against one death playing Beastmaster while the latter, who played Razor in Game One, finished with 11 kills and 17 assists with just three deaths.
But it was the debuting Marvin “Boomy” Rushton (Tusk) who set the table for the TNC stars as he dished out 27 assists along with three kills and six deaths in the 40-17 Game One victory.
Jinn “Palos” Lamatao’s Troll Warlord, on the other hand, was held to just four kills, six deaths, and 10 assists for Execration, in the match that lasted for just 34 minutes and four seconds.
TNC will face another Filipino squad when they take on the Smart Omega Esports on Wednesday, April 21.
