TNC Predator carry Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte has made some bold statements in an interview with ex-TNC coach Kim “Febby” Yong-min last Monday.
Just a month ago, TNC got beat by South Korean squad T1 for the last ticket to the ONE Esport Singapore Major.
TNC, the last Southeast Asian squad to win a Dota Pro Circuit Major, saw their chances of getting into the first-ever Major of the year stripped right out of their hands by T1 with the latter securing a crucial 2-1 win against second-ranked OB Esports x Neon — which eventually booted the Filipino powerhouse out.
T1 — who played without star offlaner Carlo “Kuku” Palad in Singapore — was booted right out of the wild card phase with only just one win in their bag.
When asked if whether TNC would have performed better than T1, Gabbi was quick to answer his former captain’s question.
“Of course, yeah, I think hundred-percent yeah,” answered Gabbi.
Gabbi shared that the current TNC roster — which includes Jun “Bok” Kanehara and Marvin “Boomy” Rushton — would finish at the top four of the stacked tournament while the former roster that has Febby and offlaner Damien “kpii” Chok would finish at the sixth spot.
“Not trying to be cocky, to be honest right now maybe top four [with the current lineup] and top six I think with [Febby and kpii],” he added.
The former Clutch Gamers carry also shared his predictions for the on-going Major. He listed Chinese squads Vici Gaming and Invictus Gaming as the possible third placers while Russian team Virtus.pro will take the second place.
European powerhouse Team Secret, according to Gabbi, is the front runner to win the entire Major.
