Tough was the night before for Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez, as he figured in a freak accident that left him for almost five hours inside an emergency room prior to his Execration debut.
This, as the 16-year-old core player, found himself on the short end of a freak double-deck bed accident. The upper part, which has a person lying on it, collapsed right on top of Kielvj.
Kielvj was rushed to the hospital by Execration members led by Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso. A photo of a bloodied Kielvj on a wheelchair circulated online after.
To make things worst, Execration, who was started their last practice against Omega Esports at 2:00 p.m., lost connection two hours after. And when they finally figured out a way to train, Kielvj suffered from the accident shortly after.
Kielvj was the first to admit that the incident affected his performance against Omega. But still, the pride of Dasmariñas, Cavite never showed any sign of it during game time.
After all, he does not want his teammates to lose their focus on the screen.
“Nakaapekto sakin yun kasi wala kaming practice nun tapos during that game, nanghihina ako tas nahihilo pero ‘di ko pinakita sa mga teammates ko kasi ayaw kong mawalan sila ng confidence or malungkot sila sa nangyayari sakin,” explained Kielvj.
Despite the fatigue, Kielvj soldiered on against an Omega squad who was coming off a respectable campaign in the world championships.
In his first game running the show, the former Aura PH sidelaner put up five kills and five assists against two deaths with Claude in the series-opening win. His perfect Ling performance in Game Two, which saw him post a clean 8-0-7 line, put an exclamation mark in Execration’s 2-0 sweep of Omega.
‘The King’ nabbed both MVP awards in Games One and Two.
If this is what a battered Kielvj looks like, the rest of the league must certainly watch out when he comes back to a full one hundred percent.
Execration will next face Blacklist International on March 26, Friday, at 4:00 p.m. as they gun for a second straight win in Group B.
