For the second straight year, the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas have joined the PBA D-League.
Last year, Perps used the second league as a way to introduce the Altas to Frankie Lim. This time around, they are using this tourney to integrate their new recruits.
“We are using D-League to see where we were right now and to get good games and proper adjustments – kung ano pa ang kulang at kung ano pa ang dapat gawin,” said Lim, who led the Altas to the Final Four in Season 94.
Joining the core of Edgar Charcos, Kim Aurin, Tonton Peralta, Jielo Razon, Luke Sese, Jerome Pacia, and Anton Tamayo are former Red Lion Ben Adamos; ex-Red Cubs Lean Martel and Lele Guissani; James Labardo of Arellano; Jeffer Egan of Southern Philippines College; Ramlee Lanoy of St. Francis of Assisi; and JBoy Solis of Olivarez College.
Also set to return is floor general Kieth Pido.
The reload did not stop there, as Lim also bolstered his staff with Olivarez head coach Myk Saguiguit and former Mapua assistant coach Ed Cordero.
Besides joining the D-League, school owner Tony Tamayo will also send the team abroad for overseas training in May.
