FIBA: Egypt continues surprising run, slams door on Jordan’s Paris hopes


The 55th-ranked Egypt dominated the crunch time, beating Jordan, 85-69, for a winning start in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 classification round at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Thursday.

The Pharaohs won their second straight game to improve to a Group N-leading 2-2 win-loss record.

On the other hand, the Falcons dropped to bottom at 0-4.

Both squads will end their campaign on Saturday. Egypt will face New Zealand at 4:45 p.m. while Jordan will meet Mexico at 8:30 p.m. still at the Pasay venue.
