Ex-ONIC PH player Greed_ lifts Sunsparks to MPL back-to-back

Greed_ made sure that he would be a champion this time around.

Allen “Greed_” Baloy lifted Sunsparks to a second straight SMART Mobile Legends Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines title, handing his former team ONIC PH a 3-1 heartbreak, Sunday.

With the title-clinching Game Four heading into a fever pitch, both teams figured in a crucial clash near the lord pit. Greed_ (Natalia) — who had worn the ONIC PH jersey just last season — found his former teammate Wise (Hanzo) placed just beside the throne in his pinnacle form and erased him off the map right away.

With members of ONIC PH still far off, Greed_ immediately attacked the throne to seal the crown.

“Siguro masaya ako na nanalo kami at hindi dahil sa natalo ko sila,” said Greed_

“First of all, sila ‘yung nagdala sa ‘kin sa ONIC kahit nalaglag na kami sa qualifiers. Kaso marami akong gustong patunayan sa kanila, kaya naging emotional talaga ako pagtapos ng laro.”

Greed_ finished with seven kills and five assists, while also providing the vision for his team through Natalia’s assassin instinct.

Kielvj (Kimmy), meanwhile, added four kills and eight assists. Then the supporting cast — composed of Jaypee (Jawhead), Killuash (Thamuz), and Rafflesia (Khufra) — combined for eight kills and 17 assists.

Two-time champions are Kielvj, Jaypee, Rafflesia, and their sixth man Renzio, who were all part of the original Sunsparks team that topped Season Four along with Killuash, who also won a championship of his own in Season Three with ArkAngel.

On the other hand, ONIC PH was led by Iy4knu (Chou) with eight kills, four kills, and three deaths. Wise failed to deliver this time for the men in yellow, finishing with only five kills, seven assists, along with five deaths.
