ECHO country manager Mitch Liwanag cleared the air regarding the heated exchange between stars Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya during a livestream last Monday.
Liwanag downplayed the incident and shared that all is well between the two young stars.
“Wala naman okay naman sila,” Liwanag told Tiebreaker Times. “Kinakausap ko sila or dinidisiplina if sakali naman may mali sila, nakakaaffect sa team and hindi pwede gawin sinasabihan ko kaagad sila.”
KarlTzy and Sanford were heard trash talking one another during the former’s first Youtube livestream in Cambodia two days ago.
The two-time world champion complained about Sanford, claiming that Sanford was stealing his kills during their ranked match. This led to a heated argument that culminated in the EXP laner challenging KarlTzy to a fist fight.
“Umayos ka nga. Hindi ako nakikipagbiruan sa’yo ah. Hindi lahat ng oras joke time tayo ah. Maging seryoso ka sa buhay mo… paano mo ko madudurog e uhugin ka pa,” said KarlTzy after Sanford teased him about his kill-death-assist tally.
“Suntukan tayo?” Sanford replied.
Liwanag also assured that the incident is not a concern for ECHO, which is gunning for its third consecutive title after winning the M4 World Championship and the MPL Philippines Season 11 title, respectively.
“We’re very open naman to each other malalaman ko naman if problema na sya or pikon na yung player. Agad naman napag uusapan if may problema. Lalo na si Yawi and coaches if may prob sa team magsasabe sila agad.”
