It was no secret that Work Auster Force, now TNC, played a role in Bren Esports’ M2 World Championship campaign a few months back.
Serving as the team’s scrimmage partner back when they were still at the amateurs, Work Auster Force pushed the eventual world champions to the limit during their sparring sessions prior to the world tilt.
So, when Work Auster Force finally made their way to the big stage in Season Seven, the teacher-student narrative became a huge hit.
Bren Esports was nothing but dominant against Work Auster Force in the regular season. They swept their season match-up before eventually handing them the boot in the lower bracket playoffs.
Carrying the TNC banner this season, the former Work Auster Force players managed to earn their first victory against the Bren franchise in the second week of Season Eight via a 2-0 outing
But according to Bren Esports head coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro, he believes that the teacher-student storyline has been put to rest a long time ago, considering both teams’ growth in the past couple of months.
“I think it stopped a long time ago kasi they’ve been doing their thing. They got stuck with their own meta, ‘yung strats nila. We’ve been trying to grow as well,” said Duckeyyy after Bren Esports’ huge reverse 2-1 sweep of TNC on Saturday afternoon.
“So, to just answer the question short – it stopped a long time ago the teacher and the student narrative.”
Bren Esports, who is currently in a four-game winning streak while moving up to the fifth spot, will take on the struggling Omega Esports tomorrow at 6:00 PM
