Donut remains confident about BXF’s playoff chances

Despite suffering a sweep, the home team Burn X Flash still managed to give the reigning MPL Indonesia champion ONIC Esports a run for their money in the group stage of the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup.

Burn X Flash put up a solid fight against ONIC Esports in the series opener and was actually a few hits away from securing a 1-0 advantage. However, Muhammad “Butsss” Sanubari’s Uranus came to the rescue and spoiled the Cambodian squad’s impressive performance.

ONIC Esports once again showcased their championship poise in the second match. Nicky “Kiboy” Fernando (Chou) managed to catch Mariusz “Donut” Tan’s Lesley, providing the Indonesian squad with the opening they needed to steal the game from Burn X Flash and complete the sweep.

Despite falling short both times, Donut remains confident that Burn X Flash can advance from the group stage, especially after pushing one of the world’s best teams to its limits.

“Yeah, of course. It was a close fight against ONIC, so I believe our confidence will be boosted even more in our next match,” said Donut during the post-match press conference.

Burn X Flash now finds themselves in a must-win situation heading into their final match, as they started the tournament with a 0-1 record.

Donut mentioned that the team will focus on improving their communication and positioning as they aim to secure a victory against the North American representative, Outplay, on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

“We will work on fixing our positioning and communication. We’ll give our best in the next match.”
