ONIC Esports head coach, Denver “Yeb” Miranda, is not closing his doors to a possible return to the Philippines.
Shortly after their momentous win in the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup, Yeb stated that his future with ONIC Esports would be “up to the organization.”
The former head coach of Cignal Ultra also revealed that there is always a chance for him and Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol to move back to the Philippines.
“It’s up to the organization. Of course, there’s a chance,” Yeb said after ONIC Esports’ 4-2 victory over Blacklist International in the MSC 2023 grand finals.
“Yung chance na ‘yan [to return to the Philippines], laging meron ‘yan kasi esports ‘to e. Mabilis galawan dito,” Yeb told his viewers in a TikTok live session on Wednesday.
Both Yeb and Kairi were recruited by ONIC Esports after ONIC PH decided to disband its roster, which also included players like Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera, Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy, Marky “Markyyyyy” Capacio, and Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales, prior to the MPL PH Season 10.
Together, they led ONIC Esports to consecutive MPL ID titles in Seasons 10 and 11. Kairi was awarded the Regular Season and Finals MVP in Season 10 and was named to the All-MPL Indonesia team, while Yeb won the Coach of the Season award in Season 11.
Yeb and Kairi also played a significant role in ending the Philippines’ dominance on the international stage, guiding ONIC Esports to the MSC title and putting an end to Indonesia’s four-year title drought in Moonton-organized international tournaments.
Whatever happens in the future, Yeb stated that their MSC victory would undoubtedly boost the team’s confidence as they aim for another shot at the M-Series title in M5.
“Of course, it will boost our confidence for upcoming tournaments, and if we are still blessed, we hope that we can participate in the M-series.”
