Domeng’s tears flow as playoff loss ends family promise

The MPL Philippines playoffs once again hosted a roller coaster ride of emotions, with several broken hearts left in the wake of the emerging champion.

On Tuesday, it was MINANA Evos who suffered the first heartbreak after failing to complete a comeback and succumbing to a 3-2 loss at the hands of Blacklist International.

As the match ended, the usually composed and silent Jan “Domeng” Delmundo was visibly trying hard to hold back his tears.

As the broadcast interview ended, he just couldn’t hold back the emotions anymore backstage.

What happened in the winding moments of the closeout match actually added to how painful the loss was for Domeng. They had just stolen an objective and looked primed for a comeback, only for Blacklist to pull off a surprising ambush to complete the game-winning push.

Parang di kami nakasuntok ganun,” he explained.

This heartbreak will forever be etched in Domeng’s memories as he strives to perform better in the upcoming seasons.

“Napaka memorable sakin tong nangyaring to. Babawi talaga kami.”
