Domeng on first M6 win: ‘Ayoko pa mag-airport esports’

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Aurora secured their victory in the M6 World Championship on Sunday, defeating ULFHEDNAR 2-0, with Jan “Domeng” Del Mundo taking center stage to help his team avoid an early flight back home from Malaysia.

Domeng delivered an outstanding performance during the Day 4 Swiss Stage, earning both the Match MVP awards in the best-of-three series.

“Ayoko pa kasi mag-airport esports eh. Binuhos ko lang talaga yung laro ko. Hindi pa ito talaga yung actual (na laro ko). Habang nag-iincrease yung day namin parang mas ini-improve ko pa yung sarili ko,” Domeng shared in an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times.

Aurora’s M6 journey didn’t start on the best note, as they suffered heavy defeats to Falcons Esports and NIP Flash in their first two matches.

However, after a well-needed rest day, the team regrouped and focused on rectifying their mistakes before their match against the Turkish squad, ULFHEDNAR.

“Siguro yung mga mistakes namin noong Day 1 and Day 2, noong nagka-time kami finix namin lahat ‘yon,” he said.

Looking ahead, Aurora’s next opponents will be determined after the match between Fnatic ONIC Philippines and BloodThirstyKings later at 7:00 PM.

Possible opponents are KeepBestGaming, Selangor Red Giants, or S2G Esports, with the reveal via live draw.

With their M6 World Championship run back on track, Domeng emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum and continuing to improve. He remains focused on ironing out the team’s minimal errors to ensure even better performances in their upcoming matches.

“Siguro mag-gain lang sa momentum tsaka tuloy lang sa practice para kung ano pa yung mga minimal na error [ay] talagang lilinisin pa namin,” he concluded.
