Dogie’s tough love pays off as Minana ends three-game skid

Minana EVOS owner Julius “Banoobs” Mariano credited Setsuna “Akosi Dogie” Ignacio for the team’s turnaround victory over Omega Esports in the MPL Philippines Season 12 regular season on Saturday night.

The team managed to break its three-game losing streak and improve its win-loss standing to 2-6 after delivering a surprisingly dominant performance against the heavily-favored Omega Esports.

“One of the biggest factors that changed yung gameplay namin ngayon is tumutok talaga si Dogie,” Banoobs said following their 2-0 win against the Smart-backed squad at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

Banoobs revealed that the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang icon monitored the team’s scrimmages and provided valuable insights that helped the team overcome its slump.

The long-time esports pundit also revealed that Dogie’s tough love strengthened the young Minana EVOS’ mental toughness, which proved to be beneficial when they faced the Duane “Kelra” Pillas-led team.

”In the first two days nung week, sobrang tumutok siya tapos nagbabatuhan kami ng inputs and lumabas doon yung parang preparation na rin ng mental toughness ng mga players kasi Dogie was being hard sa mga players,” bared Banoobs.

“Bina-balance out na lang din namin. Parang good cop, bad cop,” he added.

Aside from Dogie’s motivation, Minana EVOS head coach Jayson “Isonn” Casidsid believes that they finally found the right mix of players after spending the first three weeks trying to figure out the correct combination.

“Siguro yung lineup na ‘to ngayon na nanalo kami sa Omega, sobrang smooth ng composition eh. Kumbaga, yung apat na dating Archives plus pinasok namin sa gold lane si Domeng na-balance yung composition ng lineup,” said Isonn.
