EVOS pulls out of PH market, parts ways with MINANA

EVOS Esports has concluded its partnership with MINANA Esports on Monday afternoon, citing a renewed focus on the esports scene in their homeland of Indonesia.

“EVOS has decided to end its collaboration with Minana in the MLBB scene MPL Philippines. This decision was made because EVOS is currently focusing on the esports scene in Indonesia,” the post read.

The Indonesian squad initially teamed up with Nexplay Esports, competing under the Nexplay EVOS banner during MPL Philippines Season 8. The team later rebranded to Minana EVOS for Seasons 12 and 13.

Their competitive peak came in Season 8 of MPL Philippines, where they achieved a commendable 4th place finish before being eliminated by Blacklist International in the Lower Bracket Semifinals.

Throughout their journey, the trio of Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, John Paul “H2wo” Salonga, and Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse served as the backbone of the team. They played together from Season 6 until Yawi’s departure in Season 9 when he joined ECHO.

The team maintained steady performance levels from Seasons 9 to 11, securing 5th to 7th place finishes. They continued to represent Minana EVOS in Seasons 12 and 13, finishing similarly in the standings.

“EVOS extends the highest appreciation and thanks to the entire Minana EVOS team for all their hard work,” the statement continued. “Moving forward, we hope EVOS and Minana can continue to strengthen the esports scene in each region, both in Indonesia and the Philippines.

Best of luck, Minana, and see you around! 🙌🏻💙”
